A. Bayard Clark is Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of Commerce Bancshares, Inc. With 30 years in the banking industry, Clark directs the Mergers and Acquisitions division of the bank and chairs the Asset/Liability Management Committee and serves on the Executive Committee of Commerce Bancshares, Inc. Clark holds an A.B. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a J.D. from the St. Louis University School of Law. He is a member of the Missouri Bar Association. He also served in the United States Navy for four years. Clark is presently on the board of Focus St. Louis and is a past board member of Confluence St. Louis, a former participant in Leadership St. Louis, and a commissioner for the Land Clearance for Redevelopment Authority of St. Louis County.
