Robert H. West was elected a director in October, 1985. Mr. West retired as Chairman of the Board of Butler Manufacturing Company and from its board of directors on July 1, 1999. He is a director of Kansas City Power & Light Company and Burlington Northern Santa Fe Corporation. In April 2000, he became a director of Astec Industries, Inc. Mr. West has also served as a director of Commerce Bank, a subsidiary of the Company.
